Bourke Water Treatment Plant
Bourke Water Treatment Plant
Bourke Water Treatment Plant Began works in March 2020 as stage 1 Main Switchboard upgrade to new and existing site, Stage 2 began to take shape in July 2020 and completed in July 2021. We have worked closely with Laurie Curran Water (LCW) to help deliver the project to Bourke Shire Council.
The project consisted of a new Main Switchboard (MSB) and Building. A new Plant Building with new Motor Control Centre (MCC) Board and Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) board. New Variable Speed Drives (VSD’s) to help control motor speeds
The plant was built to filter water from the Darling River and a local Bore, the process adds a variety of chemicals and flows through different filter screens to bring the water quality up to a standard for household use. The chemicals added are Powder Activated Carbon (PAC), Potassium Permanganate, Polymer, Coagulant, Soda Ash Fluoride and Chlorine. All of these chemicals are dosed throughout the filtering process and then stored to be used by the community. On this project we have also incorporated many of our other skills in Security and CCTV systems along with working in conjunction with our automation team to program the plant.
