90kW Solar System for Wangaratta Private Hospital Ramsay Health Care.
Wangaratta Private Hospital is harnessing the power of the sun with a brand new solar system set to slash its energy use and emissions.
Chief Executive Trevor Matheson got in contact with Watters for a 99.9kW solar system, which got installed on Wangaratta Private Hospital’s roof, and it generates 15% of the hospital’s electricity usage, thus allowing them to save more than 3,000 tonnes of carbon emissions over its lifespan.
The switch to solar is not only great for the environment, but it also allows the hospital to save roughly $17,000 every year in electricity costs.
Watters Electrical kept Wangaratta’s Private Hospital informed throughout the project, and installed the system with no disruption to clinical services.
In 2021, Ramsay Australia won the 2021 HESTA Nursing and Midwifery Award for “Outstanding Organisation” for its sustainability efforts, thanks to the Solar System installed.
