Watters Electrical won the state NECA Excellence Award in the Environmental category for the second year running for the Learning Commons project at Charles Sturt University’s Thurgoona campus.

The Learning Commons project combined the most commonly used areas of the modern university – Library and computer laboratories – with social areas to enhance the functionality of the building and its immediate surrounds.

The flexible nature of the Learning Commons in providing current technology and innovative learning resources for the university community required lighting, data and security systems that complemented these ideals. With the overall focus on environmental awareness and sustainability across the Thurgoona campus, the Learning Commons met these objectives.
